INFORMATION MANAGEMENT
My second class Introduction to Information Technology (IT) was on Tuesday, 16th of October 2012; in the Lecture Theater (LT1-02). I was taught about Information Management (IM). This chapter was chapter two, and it was quite interesting because it was a general terms that managing any kind of information. Nowadays, Information Management (IM) is a way how to manage or organized our information effectively and efficiently.
Information management is the collection and management of information from one or more sources and the distribution of that information to one or more audiences.
In terms of technology, information management encompasses systems such as:
Web content Management (CM)
Document Management (DM)
Records Management (RM)
Digital Asset Management (DAM)
Learning Management Systems (LM)
Learning Content Management Systems (LCM)
In the end of my class, the lecturer gave me an assignment about the common problems of Information Management (IM). That assignment was a group assignment, and it was my first assignment with my group-mates; Adnan, Syera, Naza, Jibril and Awal. My friends and I did the best on that assignment and we presented it on 24 of October 2012. We were confused how to do it and we asked one of our senior about our slide and the common problem in Information Management. Finally, we got our ideas after listening to our senior and we did it directly. It was very joyful when we had our group discussion because of teamwork. That group project had given me a lot of information about IT and also new friends.
After two days discussion, we had finished our first presentation properly and nicely. So, these were the slides-show that we did in week two :
